Whenever I get thoughts in my head that I want ‘washed’ away, I think of this picture! It’s a real LAKE! There are a few around the world, but I love this one with the boats and people in it. How bad can your day be if you are swimming in PINK water! Great to ‘wash’ away icky thoughts with PINK thoughts! (last sentence came from my daughter…haha)

Trees are amazing and yet taken for granted. I found 4 reasons trees should be respected and then I gave you 5 reasons trees should be loved…
Trees clean the air: Trees help cleanse the air by intercepting airborne particles, reducing heat, and absorbing pollutants such as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.
Trees are Effective Sound Barriers: Trees are as effective as stonewalls in stopping sound. They muffle urban noise almost as effectively as stonewalls. Trees, planted at strategic points in a neighborhood or around your house, can mitigate major noises from crowded roads, railway stations and airports.
Trees Produce Oxygen: A mature leafy tree, in a few months, produces as much oxygen as that required by 10 people for one year.
Trees become dustbins for harmful gases: a tree absorbs and locks away carbon dioxide, and other harmful gases which warm the environment. An urban forest is a carbon storage area that can lock up as much carbon.
Trees Shade and Cool: Shade from trees reduces the need for fan, coolers and air conditioning in summer. Studies have shown that parts of cities without cooling shade from trees can literally be “heated islands,” with temperatures as much as 4-6 degrees Celsius higher than surrounding areas.
Trees Act as Windbreaks: In winter, trees break the force of winter winds. This protects houses, farmland and vegetation.
Trees Fight Soil Erosion: Trees fight soil erosion, conserve rainwater, and reduce water runoff and sediment deposit after storms.
Trees help in lowering the dust levels and pollution levels in the cities.
Trees do so much for our physical world, but they also do so much for our spirit.
Trees remind us to stand tall.
Trees show us how to bend and sway with whatever comes our way.
Trees give us something to touch to FEEL the energy of our Earth.
Trees can be climbed, so we can have a different vantage point to view our surroundings. (As a kid I loved this!)
Trees…they can teach us to just BE.
HUG A TREE TODAY!

Fear of Sinkholes
While I may have just come up with this name this morning after seeing another ‘sinkhole’ news report, I do believe at this point I am not the only one with this fear. But let’s remember that sinkholes have been occurring since the Earth became a rocky planet with liquid water…so a very long time.
If you have ever been caving then you may have used a sinkhole to get into the cave system. Some of these are just beautiful…and I will leave you with that thought.

THE ART OF NOISE…LYRICS: THE HOLY EGOISM OF GENIUS
Debussy didn’t believe in god. He didn’t believe in the Establishment. He didn’t believe in bourgeois convention. He didn’t believe in Beethoven or Wagner. He believed in… Debussy.
Debussy understood that a work of art, or an effort to create beauty, was always regarded by some people as a personal attack.
He hated to appear in public. Hated to conduct. Hated to play the piano at concerts. He preferred cats to people.
No one was ever sure whether the spites with which Debussy armed his volatile sensibilities were activated by a savage insensitivity, or by the holy egoism of genius

“I can’t believe that!” said Alice.
“Can’t you?” the queen said in a pitying tone. “Try again, draw a long breath, and shut your eyes.”
Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said. “One can’t believe impossible things.”
“I dare say you haven’t had much practice,” said the queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

Light is fluid…just like water seeps into every tiny space it can squeeze into, so does light…it doesn’t bend around corners and objects it floods an area.
